Part Fusion

Trade five parts of the same rarity for one of a higher rarity.

What is Part Fusion?

Fusion puts the parts sitting idle in your Inventory to use: you hand in 5 unequipped parts of the same rarity and receive 1 part of the next rarity. It works from Common up to Mythic, which becomes Exotic, and is available from the start of the game.

Fusion permanently consumes the parts and their upgrades. The new part starts with no upgrades.

Part Fusion shows your unequipped parts on the left, the five slots, the Chances box and the cost in DTR Coin. Auto-Fill fills the slots; Fuse starts the fusion. Click to enlarge.

How to open it

  • Open Activities → Part Fusion and pick the rarity in the tabs.
  • Or, in the Inventory, right-click an unequipped part and choose Fuse: Fusion opens on that part's rarity, with the part already in the first slot.

Click a part in the list to place it in a slot; click the slot to remove it. Auto-Fill fills the slots with the weakest parts of that rarity, without using [M] parts or upgraded parts.

Which parts can be used?

  • Unequipped: a part equipped in any loadout does not appear in the list.
  • Unlocked: a locked part is left out, just as with selling and the Collection.
  • Same rarity: the five slots only accept the rarity of the selected tab.
  • Up to Mythic: Exotic is the highest rarity and cannot be fused.

Type, archetype and upgrade level can differ among the five parts.

What decides the part you get?

Each part you place counts as one chance for its type. With five parts of the same type, the new part is always that type; if you mix types, the chance is split in the same proportion.

Parts placedType chance for the new part
5 EngineEngine 100%
3 Engine and 2 TiresEngine 60% · Tires 40%
1 each of five types20% for each type

Within the type drawn, every archetype has the same chance, and the stats are rolled as for any new part of that rarity. The Chances box shows the math before you confirm.

How much does it cost?

Each fusion consumes DTR Coin from the game Inventory. The cost depends on the rarity of the parts you hand in:

Rarity of the partsRarity you receiveCost in DTR Coin
COMMONUNCOMMON1
UNCOMMONRare3
RareEpic10
EpicLegendary30
LegendaryMythic100
MythicExotic350

Only coins in your local Inventory can pay for a fusion: coins on Steam or inside unopened crates do not count. The footer shows the cost and how many coins you have.

[M] parts in Fusion

[M] parts can be fused too. Each [M] part you place gives a 5% chance that the new part is [M]; with all five slots holding [M] parts, the chance is 25%. Without any [M] part, the new part is never [M].

The [M] parts used are consumed like the others, even when the new part does not come out as [M]. Check the slots before you confirm.

See Steam Inventory and [M] to learn what an [M] part allows.

Confirmation and result

Every fusion asks for confirmation. After that, the parts come together and the new part is revealed with its name and type; it is already in your Inventory. The reveal closes with Confirm.

Leaving the panel during the animation does not cancel the fusion or charge you again: the new part stays in your Inventory.
