Receiving a crate

50%permanent base chance
60%with Mastery bonuses
1 itemper opened crate

The permanent crate chance applies to eligible races. It is not a timer or a promise of one crate every two races. The Crates and Finds nodes add up to ten percentage points to the base chance together. Equipped Gizmo Goodfind adds its crate-chance bonus according to its level.

Profile → Benefits shows your permanent crate chance and profile benefits. In this screenshot, Crate Storage has 5 base slots and +10 from the expansion. Click to enlarge.

What can drop at my stage?

Select a stage to see its rarity distribution. Progression unlocks Rare in Colombia and Epic in South Africa. Legendary and Mythic become available in the League; Common remains available in every phase.

In this phase, the overall chance of an [M] part per crate is 0.338%. The chance per race also depends on receiving and storing the crate.

New crates have a 10% chance to award DTR Coin instead of equipment at every stage. The coin is already a marketable consumable; it does not go through the equipment [M] conversion roll.

The [M] column is conditional: rarity is rolled first. For example, 9.6% for Mythic means a part already rolled as Mythic has a 9.6% chance to be [M]. It does not mean a 9.6% chance of getting a Mythic part.

Opening a crate

Use the crate icon on the racing strip. Manual opening gives the item from the oldest crate: equipment or DTR Coin. Each crate's contents are fixed when it is obtained; saving it for a later stage does not change the item inside. Crates obtained before the update keep their existing contents.

The item appears in your in-game Inventory. Opening a crate never automatically sends anything to Steam, even if the item has the [M] marker.

Depot and Inventory serve different purposes

StorageWhat it holdsCapacity
DEPOTUnopened crates5 base slots + up to 5 from Mastery + 10 from the expansion.
INVENTORYUnequipped parts and consumables10 base slots + Mastery expansions, including a repeatable terminal node.
EquipmentParts fitted to carsDo not occupy free Inventory slots.
  • Depot full: the new crate is not stored; you still receive Credit and Mastery.
  • Inventory full: opening is refused without consuming the crate.
  • One free slot: lets you open your next crate, provided you have one in the Depot. Selling, dismantling or contributing to the Collection frees up space by consuming the part; equipping can also free a slot if the car has room for it.

Open crates automatically

Follow CREDIT → MASTERY → DEPOT → AUTOMATION. Unlocking Automation costs 520 Mastery, in addition to its prerequisites.

Automation opens one crate every 7 eligible, settled races. The four Conveyor levels reduce the interval to 6, 5, 4, and 3 races. Opening happens before that race awards a new crate, freeing a slot in time to receive it.

If the Depot is empty or the Inventory is full, automation waits without banking extra openings. It does not run while the game is closed, and it never opens several crates at once.
